West Clay is a perfumer-founded fragrance studio in Sarasota, Florida, making scents for your everyday life and all its little plot twists.
The one someone remembers you by. The one you wear to get married. The one you gift to your mom or daughter. The one you wear when you just want to stay in and feel extra cozy.
We love the small magic of perfume. How something invisible can change the mood, bring back a whole summer, or become your own little good-luck charm.
Our perfumes are little muses. Something to spark your confidence, indulge a mood, or make you feel a little more at home in your own skin. A small pleasure with a way of becoming very personal.
We have a few obsessions.
Old books. Love stories. Animals with a world of their own. The kind of memory that comes back all at once, just because you smelled something.
West Clay takes its cues from the things that stay with us. Our founder Suzy’s Midwest girlhood, a deep passion for animals, and an ongoing love affair with the details that make ordinary life feel romantic.
There’s a little wonder in paying attention. A creature standing perfectly still in the trees. A sentence that seems like it was written just for you. A coincidence you secretly decide is a sign.
Those inspirations become perfumes with their own personalities. Soft with a strange streak. Sweet with something spicy underneath. Familiar, but hard to put your finger on.
A little curiosity looks good on everyone.

Every perfume is our own custom creation, developed in house and hand-blended by our founder and perfumer, Suzy, in Sarasota, Florida. We’re hands-on from the first experiments to the final blend. The person imagining the fragrance is the person making it.
We thoughtfully work with essential oils, naturals, and aroma molecules to give each scent its own character. Our perfumes are phthalate-free, vegan, and cruelty-free, made with a sugarcane alcohol base.
It’s personal. Of course it is.
I’m Suzy, the founder and perfumer behind West Clay. If you’ve worn one of our perfumes, you’ve worn something I’ve spent a lot of time with.
I love the moment a blend starts to have a personality of its own. I’ve always been drawn to that feeling that there might be a little more magic around us than we give things credit for.
Perfume lets me do something with that feeling. A few drops can become a place, a mood, someone you miss. Even after all the blending, that part still gets me.
But my favorite part is where you come in. A scent I made becomes your getting-ready perfume. Your favorite person’s sweater. A reminder of a very good night.
I get to make it. You get to make it mean something.
